This week Plaid Cymru launched "Change for the Better" - a pamphletoutlining our ideas for May's assembly elections.
Our plans include:
* first time home buyer grants to help young people buy homes in theirown communities
* universal affordable childcare which will help parents back to workand tackle child poverty* free, nutritional, locally-sourced meals in primary schools
* public ownership of the railway system
* housing cooperatives and the defence of council housing as an alternative to Labour's pro-privatisation agenda
* ideas to make Wales free from oil dependency within a generation
* lap tops for school pupils to help create the most modern ITliterate workforce in the world
* a policy to reduce student debt to help reverse the brain drain
Plaid is committed to independence. Our first step will be a referendum in2011 for a Scottish-style parliament. We will work to make sure ourgovernment has a voice on the world stage to oppose nuclear power, nuclearweapons and illegal wars.
